The Network is kicking off 2012 with a new initiative to bring GLBT themed creative arts to Long Island and promote emerging GLBT artists — Pride in the Arts (PITA).
Pride in the Arts (PITA) is a new initiative for The Network with a dual purpose. First, it aims to foster and promote new and emerging GLBT artists by featuring their work to a community of peers, with the aim of establishing or increasing their following and notoriety.
Second, the program provides increased access to GLBT-themed and -produced art and exposure to various creative disciplines for the broader GLBT community of Long Island.
Through a series of regular openings, performances and exhibitions throughout the year, PITA will increase on-site and off-site opportunities for community members interested in the arts and establish an important means of support for GLBT artists and The Network.
